Agua Fresca literally means, (in Spanish) “Fresh Water.” In Mexico, you are likely to find a number of flavors of this wonderful, refreshing beverage. No worries ... you don’t have to leave the country to have this treat! In fact, the only place you need to go is to your grocery store or produce stand! Here’s my recipe for Watermelon “Agua Fresca.”
Cut watermelon into cubes (seedless) and add to the blender. Add crushed ice and about 1 Tablespoon of sugar, and the juice from half a lime. Blend and serve!
*I filled the blender about half full of watermelon and only needed 1 Tablespoon of sugar. Add sugar to your taste; same with lime juice.
**For an adult beverage, add a shot of rum or vodka!
