AIMEE’S CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY TRIFLE
Using ingredients that you typically have on hand, you can turn this into a beautiful, elegant dessert to serve throughout the holiday season! Mint and raspberries on top are a simple garnish for this trifle, to reflect beautiful Christmas colors! Also remember anytime you make a cake that does not turn out the way you hoped, turn it into a trifle!
- One chocolate cake, cut into pieces (baked in a 9 x 13 dish)
- 3 cups homemade whipped cream (use 3 cups heavy whipping cream and 3/4 cup sugar to make homemade whipped cream)
- 2 cups chocolate pudding
- 1 cup seedless Red Raspberry Jam, heated (in microwave for about 30 to 40 seconds)
- fresh raspberries
- fresh mint
In a trifle bowl or a large glass bowl (or you can do individual trifles in champagne or wine glasses) layer pieces of chocolate cake on bottom. Drizzle warm raspberry jam on top of cake, then add a layer of chocolate pudding. Next, add a layer of homemade whipped cream and place fresh raspberries along the outside edge. Repeat layers, ending with the top layer being cake, then fresh whipped cream in the center, placing raspberries and mint on top for garnish.
