Makes 1 drink

I created this drink in honor of my sweet daughter, Michala, who loves anything and everything cookie dough!

  • 1 Tablespoon instant hot chocolate
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup heated vanilla soy milk (or almond milk or milk; whatever you drink)
  • 1 shot to 3 shots (as much or as little as you desire) freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • homemade whipped cream
  • chocolate chips
  • chocolate circles (instructions below) for topping

In the bottom of your mug, stir together the hot chocolate and almond extract to make somewhat of a paste. Heat your soy milk (or milk) in the microwave for about a minute and a half to two minutes, in a microwave safe jar (do not put the lid in the microwave if using a mason jar!) Remove from the microwave and place the lid on top, then place a towel over the lid and shake. Next add the heated soy milk to the hot chocolate mixture and stir well. Add the espresso, then top with homemade whipped cream and chocolate chips/chocolate circles. Enjoy!


1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Heat the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave, stopping to stir every 30 seconds. Once melted, take a butter knife or a popsicle stick or skewer and dip into the chocolate. Drizzle a circle design onto the parchment paper, then place in the freezer to set. Once set, place this chocolate circle on top of your latte, and enjoy!
