I love to make Egg Nog Toast and great bread really makes this a "gourmet-type" treat!   So here, I give you another reason to buy more Egg Nog!  Sometimes I call this “Music City Toast” and others I call it “Christmas Egg Nog Toast.”  It is wonderful to make this for guests, as you will certainly dazzle them with the taste!

**This is a great recipe where you can experiment with amounts and desired flavors.  I do not measure any of this, but gave you the approximate amounts that I use.

  • 2 eggs
  • Egg Nog (amount to your desire) about 1 cup
  • freshly grated nutmeg
  • a couple of dashes of cinnamon (about 1 teaspoon)
  • splash of vanilla (about 1 teaspoon)
  • sugar to your taste (about 2 teaspoons)
  • teeny dash of salt
  • 8 slices of egg bread (challah)

In a deep bowl or pie plate, mix egg, Egg Nog, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla and salt.  Spray your skillet with cooking spray and coat both sides of the bread with mixture.   Cook over medium heat (I cook at 325 on electric griddle) on both sides until it is done; about 2 minutes per side.  If you would like, garnish with sifted powdered sugar and of course syrup!
