FRUIT ICE CREAM
Watch Aimee making this!
Some people have complained when I give them my recipe for ice cream, that it “takes too long” to make it. I promise, it is worth the “few minutes” of effort! This is the recipe my mom uses, and the recipe I remember eating every summer as a little girl. Peach ice cream, strawberry, you name it. You can do banana, or banana, walnut and chocolate chunk … you can take out the fruit and add anything else you would like, too! Play around with it; use your imagination! Brownie chunks, your favorite liquors ... anything can be added to this recipe. Enjoy!
- 4 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2 cups Half and Half
- 2 cups Milk (Whole Milk is best)
- 2 1/3 cups sugar
- 4 cups fruit
- 2 Tablespoons vanilla
Scald the milk first, then remove from heat. Next add the sugar, heavy whipping cream, half and half and vanilla. Mix all together in a large bowl and pour into your ice cream freezer. Last, add fruit and refrigerate ingredients for one hour. Remove from refrigerator and follow directions.
*If you do not have a 5 qt. freezer, you may have to scale the recipe back a bit, as this is more than some ice cream makers will hold. This recipe is very rich, but VERY good.
