Aimee's Grown Up Pigs in a Blanket
Makes 8 appetizers (can double/triple, easily)
- 2 links Italian Sausage, cooked
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 block of Monterrey Jack cheese, sliced in 1 to 2 inch slices, per appetizer
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water
Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet, then set aside. Preheat your oven to 350. Cut each slice of puff pastry into four squares. Blot all of the grease from the Italian Sausages on paper towels. Cut Italian sausage into "chunks" - you should be able to get about three to four pieces, per link. On the puff pastry, add a small line of mustard, then the Monterrey Jack Cheese, then a 2 inch piece of sausage. Roll up and seal, then place seam side down on the lined cookie sheet. Brush each pastry with the egg wash. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
