This May, I'm bringing you healthy ideas to help you get swimsuit ready. Today I'm starting off with fruit-flavored waters. Flavored waters are not only delicious and easy but they are good for you for so many reasons. Time to get rid of the diet soda and consider this not only something yummy to sip, but also a great way to have an easy, healthy cleanse. (I drink these all summer long!) Berries and citrus fruits are so good for you and packed full of vitamins, not to mention they are great for helping you trim your waist line, so start loading up:


  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Water
  • Grapefruit slices
  • Lemon slices
  • Lime slices
  • Orange slices
  • Orange segments 
  • Mint leaves (optional)
  • Cucumber slices (optional)
  • Water

In the bottom of a large pitcher (or tall mason jar), select your fruit. Make sure that you have washed all of your berries and if you slice your citrus fruit, make sure you wash the oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruits as well. Add cold water on top, then place in the refrigerator and drink this all day. Add water as the water level gets low. (Either eat the fruit or discard by the end of the day).

There is no need to add sugar, because you need the healthy benefits of just the fruit and the water. There are so many unhealthy reasons for you to stop drinking the diet sodas. Artificial sweeteners are being linked to multiple diseases (cancer, obesity, memory related diseases and kidney diseases to name a few). Sip on water with fresh fruit, all summer long and really reap the benefits! Berries are packed with antioxidants and they are so good for your memory, digestion and skin. When buying your lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruits, buy fruits that are heavy for their size - this means they have more juice!
