My sweet friend, Shari Christensen shared this recipe with me!
- 1 package of Oreos
- 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
- 1 package chocolate candy coating (bark coating)**
- If bark coating is not available; use:
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening/oil
Using a rolling pin, in a gallon size zip-top bag, roll out the package of Oreos. It will be lumpy from the filling. Mix in the cream cheese, folding with a spatula. You will probably have to use your hands to complete mixing. Roll into walnut sized balls. Stick toothpick into each ball, and place on a cookie sheet. Freeze for approximately 2 hours. Melt the chocolate, and dip each ball into melted chocolate. Place on a cookie sheet to harden at room temperature.
**If candy coating/bark is not available, use 1 bag of chocolate chips and 1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening over a double boiler, then proceed as above.
